We are very grateful to our sponsors for continuously supporting us. Your kind help is extremely important to keep players motivated with new equipments, regular practice sessions and developing our future under 17 youth team. Cricket is a huge part of South Asian heritage and evolved as a symbol of the region’s identity. In order to cherish our cricketing culture, a group of cricket enthusiasts got together in 1998 to establish BTSC as a non-profit organization. Our goal is to promote cricket and other sports in the South Asian (especially in Bangladeshi) communities. Our club members come from all walks of life including students, engineers, scientists, teachers, accountants, government officers, and entrepreneurs. Because of the growing number of Bangladeshi cricket players in BC, we got our 3rd team at Division 10 in 2024. We also plan to reintroduce training and participation of junior team (under 17) by the end of 2024. It is worth mentioning that cricket was declared as the first national sport of Canada by Prime Minister J. A. MacDonald in 1867. The first game in Canada took place between two British troops in Quebec in 1785. With that spirit, BCMCL was founded in 1914 by seven founding member clubs. It is a competitive league and is known for its scenic cricket grounds (35 in total; most notably Stanley Park). Currently, the league has 100+ teams which are organized into 11 divisions: 9 for adults and 1 for juniors. The games are mainly held during the whole of the summer (late April to late August), against teams in the same division. Two top teams in each division get promoted to an upper division and the two bottom teams get relegated to lower division. The league also holds other T10, T20, Over-40 and 6-a-Side tournaments during the season. Players are selected from the league to represent the Provincial, and the National teams. The cricket grounds are located in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver.
